Chuggington!
Chuggington, the kids show for which I've written a handful of episodes, will begin airing in the U.S. on the Disney Channel in January 2010. This action-packed train-centered series is already a hit in the U.K. (and in my house!). One of my episodes, "Koko on Call," is available on this DVD (PAL Region 2) from Amazon UK. Here's a link to a clip from an episode I wrote called "Wilson's Wacky Tour."
Audiobooks
I have been an audiobook abridger for 15 years and while I don't get the opportunity to do as many abridgments these days, I always enjoy the challenge. And it exposes me to authors I might not normally read, as was the case of my latest assignment -- Iris Johansen's gripping mystery Eight Days to Live. Last year, I had lots of fun abridging One Fifth Avenue by Sex in the City author Candace Bushnell.
Monkey Love in Thailand
Monkey Love is now on sale in Thailand! One more reason I love Thai food. I also love their cute cover (right), but wish I could read a word of the text.
Huffington Post
I blog semi-regularly on the Huffington Post. My latest post attacks the argument that zoo animals could be replaced with robotic replicas and still have the same educational and emotional impact.
New Anthology
I have an essay in Have I Got a Guy for You, a new anthology edited by Alix Strauss, which is now available in bookstores and on Amazon.com. The book is a compendium of stories of mothers' mostly disastrous attempts to fix-up their daughters. It wasn't hard to choose which of my mother's myriad matchmaking schemes to write about. There were oh-so-many, but the hands-down winner was when she tried to set me up (via a string of letters) with Gelman, the (then single) producer of Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.
Me on Regis and Kelly!
On the August 1, 2008 broadcast of Regis & Kelly, Regis Philbin read several excerpts from my story on the air. It was quite a trip hearing Regis, Kelly, and Gelman discuss my story, which had them all in stitches. To watch the segment, click on the play button below.

Book Buyers Best Award
Monkey Star received a Book Buyers Best award from the Orange County chapter of Romance Writers of America. The super-cool thing about this awards (not that all awards aren't super-cool!),
is that it is judged by booksellers and librarians. The final judges were buyers from Borders Inc. and Levy Home Entertainment. I wasn't able to attend the awards reception in San Fransciso and thank (i.e. kiss the feet of) the judges personally, but I am exceedingly grateful for this honor.
